Master's Degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering

The Master's Degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering was one of the first in Italy, initially as a Specialist Degree and later becoming a Master's Degree following various university reforms. Over the past 20 years, it has trained hundreds of professionals in robotics and automation who now work in corporate and academic settings worldwide.

The aim of the Study Program is to train engineers with strong competencies in the theory of automation and robotics, alongside the ability to understand, design, and implement modern automation and robotic systems in a highly multidisciplinary environment. These skills and abilities are acquired through a pool of common courses for all students, covering the necessary basics of computer science, mechanics, and electronics, system and control theory, along with stochastic systems theory and optimal, robust, non-linear, and adaptive control, as well as the mechanics, dynamics, and control of fixed or mobile robots.

Students can then choose from three curricula to specialize their training in the field of mobile robots and autonomous vehicles, human-centric robotics and cybernetics, or advanced robotics and automation for industry and services. The study path also includes qualifying courses covering topics such as robotic vision, artificial intelligence, embedded and real-time systems, and, for example, rapid prototyping for robotics. Finally, students can also choose to participate in a research project offered by the course instructors through the "Automation and Robotics Laboratory" course.
